Very often, as soon as we put the batteries on a new device it will start immediately sending data. If ALSO IoT Platform is not aware of the existence of that device, the data from the device might not appear. To avoid this kindly proceed like that:
a. First, enter the activation code in the IoT Platform
b. After that, put the batteries on the device.
If the batteries were already put first before the activation code was entered, it's not a big issue: If there is a restart button on the device, press it. Otherwise remove the batteries from the device, wait about one day and then put the batteries again.
